Description Career Counselor – Full Time

The Berkeley College Woodland Park Campus Career Services Office is seeking a driven individual to join our team as a Career Counselor with a strong focus on in-major job placement and internships. This is an exciting opportunity to join our educational community and change lives.

The Woodland Park Career Counselor works with students and regional employers providing placement services identifying career and internship opportunities, develop career search strategies, interviewing skills, personal branding, and an overall career development plan for lifelong success.

Job duties include:
• Create and maintain employer partnerships securing major specific internship and job orders.
• Conduct daily sales calls to new and existing employers and research employment trends.
• Contact assigned students and graduates weekly to track job search progress, set up interviews, and verify employment status.
• Prepare students for required academic internships on a quarterly basis and ensure the placement of all assigned students.
• Proactively coordinate with faculty members, program chairs, and campus associates to ensure overall student success and retention.
• Maintain weekly status reports on graduates and interns for Campus Director.
• Ensure internship and graduate placement goals established by Senior Director are met quarterly.
• Research and join external organizations focused on career and business development.
• Assist with coordination and promotion of workshops, and on-site career events.

Requirements Job Requirements:

• Previous work experience in placement, recruitment, business development and or sales is necessary along with a proven track record of these skills.
• Strong Computer Skills, Office 365, Microsoft Office Applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Blackboard, Salesforce, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, and LinkedIn are helpful.
• Report to Berkeley College Woodland Park, NJ campus and travel to other campuses in NY and NJ as needed.
• Flexible work hours with some Saturdays required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Most of not all communications with employers, students and graduates are on the phone and via email communications.
• Bachelor’s degree
