All qualified candidates must be in a related field of study.  The Catering/Conference Services Intern will provide a wide range of administrative and hands-on support to managers of the department.  Internship includes direct contact with guests through telephone, email and face-to-face interaction.  Intern, with support from full-time Administrative Assistant will have primary responsibility for general administrative work that directly supports department managers, distributing reports, writing/typing correspondence and other documents, answering telephone calls, and assisting with projects.  Strong telephone and letter writing skills are vital.  Food and beverage knowledge as well as special event planning will be learned on a daily basis with assistance and guidance from managers ($10.00 - $10.50 hourly).

Requirements
  • Must be able to work in an office environment, interacting with guests, clients, and Biltmore employees.
  • Must be currently enrolled or a recent graduate of a college or university and in the Hospitality & Tourism or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Able to work minimum of 40 hours per week with flexibility on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Energetic and quick to learn.
  • Professional appearance and dress (adherence to Biltmore's dress code standards is mandatory)
