Description As a member of a dynamic interdisciplinary Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS) outreach team working with adults with mental health diagnoses to rehabilitate and live independently in the community, the Peer/Family Specialist will have lived experience and engage individuals to help facilitate hope and belief in recovery and support the process of change. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: reaching out to individuals to offer direct peer support, supporting individuals in their home, accompanying individuals socially to events, and providing telephone reassurance and advocacy.
Requirements Candidate must be at least 21 years of age and have personal lived experience with: traumatic life events, extreme emotional or altered states, living without a home, psychiatric diagnoses, navigating the mental health system, or other relevant life disrupting events. HS diploma or GED is required. Certification as a Peer Specialist (CPS) is preferred; candidates who have completed the CPS training are strongly encouraged to apply. Other candidates will be expected to complete this training when offered after hire. Computer skills are a plus. All candidates must complete and pass background record screening process.
