High Liner Foods is proud to be the leading North American processor and marketer of value-added frozen seafood. We are seeking a Group Team Lead I to become the newest member of our Production Team. The position will be based out of our Portsmouth, NH facility.

High Liner Foods is the leading North American processor and marketer of value-added frozen seafood.  Our retail branded products are sold throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico under the High Liner, Fisher Boy, Mirabel and Sea Cuisine labels, and are available in most grocery and club stores.

Position Purpose

The individual in this position is responsible for the daily set up and operation of packaging area and ensuring line productivity meets HLF’s standards for volume and quality. In addition, this individual insures that all HLF Good Manufacturing Policies, food safety/quality regulations and Safety Rules are consistently met.

Key Accountabilities

Coordinate Line Productivity

·         Ensure line personnel are effectively utilized at all times

·         Leads and motivates line staff to ensure optimal productivity and work quality

·         Directs and monitors to ensure proper procedures and controls are met

·         Identify line issues and communicate with supervision and maintenance personnel to maximize line efficiencies

·         Observes operations and inspects packaged items for conformance with specifications

·         Identifies equipment malfunctions and repair needs, and makes minor adjustments

·         Ensures proper supply of materials to optimize line efficiency

Ensure quality and safety standards are met

·         Required to know, understand, and comply with all HLF Good Manufacturing Policies, Food Safety regulations, and HLF Safety rules

·         Ensure equipment and surrounding area is maintained in a clean and sanitary fashion

·         Required to use proper safety gear when performing assigned tasks

Administrative duties

·         Follows standard guidelines, procedures, oral and written instructions

·         Responsible for accurate record keeping and timely submission of work documents

·         Provide necessary training and direction to employees to ensure proper completion of tasks

·         Resolves commonly asked questions

·         Oversee line staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed; address and/or escalate issues in a timely manner to management

Required skills, qualifications, and experience

Skills & Knowledge

·         Requires basic knowledge of machines and products

·         Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

·         Applies knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field

·         Basic written and effective communication skills

·         Ability to take direction and execute in a fast paced environment

 

Experience

·         Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred

·         Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

·         Requires constant movement

·         Required to climb stairs and ladders and access elevated platforms

·         Demonstrated hand/eye coordination

 

Education

·         High School diploma or GED required, 2-3 years experience in a related field

·         Requires the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in spoken English

 

Other

·         Work overtime as needed as well as mandatory overtime as required

·         Employment is subject to drug testing and background screening.
