Title Director of Student Services

Description The Student & School Success, Student Support Services Director is responsible for providing direction and leadership for the development and implementation of improved student support programming across MPS.

Collaborates with the Program Director to:
• Facilitate, provide, and guide stakeholder opportunities and leadership experiences in successful collaboration providing innovative services, strategies, and programs in Social Emotional Learning, Dual Enrollment, Career Technical Education, and other areas of college and career readiness;
• Develop policies and procedures for student support services that monitor students' needs and progress and facilitate high graduation rates as well as success in college and career readiness;
• Oversee team and cross-functional meetings, workshops, professional development, and training for student support services, specifically with counseling and advising teams;
• Create, identify, and manage all program components, support needs and materials for delivering services
o Assists with facilitating the regional Program Managers in planning and implementing on-going student support training
o Works with the Academic Services Group and Teach 360 to maintain student support training within the K12 training platform
o Assists in developing trainings and resources for student support services roles
• Leverage and analyze data from a wide variety of sources to target student issues, ensure compliance with organization policies/procedures, establish goals, and guide department vision;
• Collaborate with internal and external leadership for implementing and maintaining services and programs;
• Assist in the collaboration with other colleges and central university offices to ensure a coordinated approach to student recruitment and retention activities;
• Manage program evaluation and development, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to drive innovation and promising practices;
• Develop and maintain effective relationships and communication with regional implementation teams, school leaders, national team members, and student support services roles in the field (FAST, Advisors, Counselors);
• Help articulate the mission and vision of the Student & School Success Team with the aim of ensuring all stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively to achieve desired results;
• Facilitate connection and collaboration amongst internal team members and national teams for the effective implementation of Student Support programming
• Requisitions and allocates supplies, equipment, and materials as needed
• Actively participates in all department and team meetings
Requirements • Master’s degree from an accredited college/university with emphasis in education, school counseling, administration, management and/or career readiness
• Strong data/analytics skills to make decisions that impact student achievement
• Minimum of 7 years of successful professional experience, combined with experience in two or more of the following areas: Social Emotional Learning, Career Technical Education, Workforce Development, and College/Career Readiness Related Fields.
• 5 or more years of demonstrated experience as a leader in program development and administration, including managing a school-based student support programs or similar position
• Successful prior experience in leading a diverse team representing a variety of complex programs and initiatives that represent a broad spectrum of services provided within student support
• Exceptional organizational and supervisory skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with superiors, peers, subordinates, local/state/national education representatives and regulatory/funding agencies, and the public-at-large
• Active participation in local, state and/or national organizations
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time
