Description TITLE: PRODUCT INTEGRITY CLERK
REPORTS TO: DC Support Supervisor
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Product Integrity Clerk is a support position that is responsible for, but not limited to, the processing of any compromised product found in the distribution center. This involves any damaged, repairable, and non- salvageable product that is affected during any inbound or outbound process. This requires the methodical review of all pick slots and assessing those items that are in need of processing. The detailed execution of duties results in the reduction of lost product and increase to the bottom line profits of the company and enables the greater fulfillment of operational objectives.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: 1. Receives daily direction from management as to which aisles to work
2. Safely operates powered industrial equipment while maneuvering through the distribution centers while inspecting/repairing/retrieving compromised product
3. Safely positions him/herself at each slot in need of attention, always uses proper lifting techniques, and utilizes all required PPE in the completion of all work
4. Scans damaged cases out of inventory using the RF hand-held devices
5. Repairs, repacks, or properly short-packs any compromised product in need of repair
6. Scans all repaired/reworked cases back into inventory using the RF hand-held devices
7. Reads and understands selection labels, slot identification codes, and product descriptions for the purpose of processing product
8. Distinguishes between damaged and salvageable product in a pick slot
9. Properly stacks product on pick slot pallets in a damage-free manner, interlocking cases
10. Secures all completed pallets with shrink wrap, ready for shipment
11. Documents all product processing activity in a timely, accurate, and legible manner
12. Maintains all established productivity standards for the position, performs value-added work at all times, and proactively seeks direction from one in charge during slow times
13. Communicates any problems to somebody in charge, namely personnel, damage, or equipment opportunities.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Performs other duties as assigned such as:
1. Stacks overflow product in the aisle on its appropriate pallet in a damage-free manner
2. Replaces any misplaced product back to its original pick slot
3. Replaces returned customer product back to its original pick slot, damage-free
4. General housekeeping and addressing a spill
5. Collection of pallets in the warehouse
6. Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE NEEDED: • Must be 18 years of age
• No prior experience required, but warehouse background preferred.
KNOWLEDGE NEEDED: • Must have basic computer skills
• Possess the ability to retain information such as search screens and processes
• Must be able to obtain proper certification for the safe operation of powered industrial equipment.
BEHAVIORIALABILITIES NEEDED: • Must be able to read, write and understand basic instructions in the English language
• Must be able to interact with associates professionally and effectively
• Maintain standards of personal hygiene and proper dress code.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Be available to work all shifts/days of the week
2. Walking, squatting, reaching, twisting, bending and carrying up to 75 pounds, distances of up to 8 feet on wet or slippery surfaces
3. Push and pull items with a resistance of up to 50 pounds
4. Climb to an elevation of up to 11 inches
5. Using repetitive motions with upper and lower extremities; mounting and dismounting equipment approximately 9 inches high
6. Perform work in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from -20 degrees and in a grocery warehouse of up to 100 degrees
7. Must pass post-employment substance abuse screening, physical ability, and physical health screening which includes the HPE (Human Performance Evaluation) test
8. Follow all safety/work rules and report to a supervisor any problems that interfere with a safe work environment.
