Requirements Macmillan Learning is looking for a highly skilled individual to sell course materials - textbooks and educational technology products - to professors at both Colleges and Universities in the Montreal and Maritimes territory. The current opening is based in Montreal and is an 18-month assignment (with the possibility of extension).

The territory includes schools in Montreal and throughout the Maritimes, including PEI, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Significant overnight travel (up to 50% during peak season) is required.

The outside Publisher’s Representative is responsible for maximizing the sales of Macmillan Learning’s products by driving the usage of Macmillan resources, including textbooks and online resources like LaunchPad, Sapling Learning, and Achieve Read and Practice through on-campus visits and interviews. The rep must be comfortable in their ability to work independently and problem solve while also being a part of a larger team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO DAILY:

• You’ll achieve your sales goal by maintaining existing business and by winning new business
• You’ll Identify, prioritize, track, and close sales opportunities in Salesforce.com
• You’ll drive strategy and key business decisions in your territory
• You’ll understand and fulfill customers’ needs
• You’ll offer unique, effective and sometimes complex solutions to meet customer needs
• You’ll develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about Macmillan’s products and services
• You’ll effectively manage your time, your territory, and the resources available to you, to maximize sales results
• You’ll identify and act upon the economic and academic drivers that motivate customers
• You’ll challenge your customers’ assumptions and expectations providing valuable insight into market perspective
• You’ll be an active team player both on the Canadian sales team and throughout Macmillan Learning to help meet company objectives
• You’ll interact with sales, marketing, editorial and provide market insight
• You’ll document daily sales activities in Salesforce.com, manage your sales pipeline, and perform other tasks necessary to drive sales revenue and to communicate activities to sales management
• You’ll travel within your territory and to two annual company meetings
