Requirements
Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group is seeking a Marketing & Publicity Assistant to provide administrative and day to day support for the Senior Vice President, Deputy Publisher. Additionally, the Assistant will work with all members of the larger marketing & publicity team on key title campaigns for bestselling and award-winning titles, from picture books to young adult novels across all imprints. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in all areas of marketing and publicity at a dynamic children’s book publisher.

Major Responsibilities:

• Assist the SVP, Deputy Publisher with day-to-day tasks and provide general
administrative support including expense report management, calendar
coordination, and answering phones
• Manage special projects, including creating PowerPoint presentations
• Manage biweekly Sales & Marketing meetings and seasonal meetings, including
scheduling, document creation and distribution, reporting, and note-taking
• Work with the larger marketing and publicity team to provide campaign support,
including writing press releases and marketing copy, brainstorming social media
strategy, designing assets, and coordinating promotional materials
• Assist with consumer conventions, book festivals, and trade shows, including
shipping coordination, creating social media content, and staffing
• Assist with data analytics reporting

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Must be extremely organized and detail oriented, with the ability to handle
multiple projects at once
• Must have strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to create PowerPoint presentations
• Strong copy-editing and creative writing ability
• Ability to prioritize within a deadline driven environment
• Team player with a positive, enthusiastic attitude
• Creative approach to problem solving
• Knowledge of and proficiency in writing for social media
• Must be able to work independently and set priorities
