Requirements Hayden-McNeil, an imprint of Macmillan Learning Curriculum Solutions and a custom publisher of course specific educational materials is looking for a Production Coordinator to be based out of the Plymouth, MI office. The Production Coordinator oversees some prepress and all manufacturing activities for product components and physical finished goods.

Responsibilities:

Liaison with Vendors

• Independently creates, reviews, and submits manufacturing purchase orders. Supervises submission of final files for printing. Coordinates details of print and bind schedules with printers and sends final files to the printer.
• Is the main contact with all printers for the projects they oversee, representing Macmillan Learning and its interests.
• Confirms printing specifications, estimated costs, materials and quality assurance for all manufactured products they oversee.

Warehouse and Inventory Management

• Independently coordinates and oversees all project component inventory.
• Collaborates with production team, office facility personal and the warehouse distribution team.
• Oversees maintenance of warehouse organization and daily appearance. Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
• Some uploading and loading of shipments from vendors.
• Oversees the inbound and outbound of all product components.
• Troubleshoots issues with in-house and external stakeholders; solution provider to address problems, as needed.

Collaboration with Team

• Generates and maintains key project information (ship dates, manufacturing budgets, inventory counts).
• Communicates project details to the company, including schedule, revisions, estimates, and final costs.

Special Projects

• Coordinates, with input from Supervisor, special one-off projects as-needed.

Skills/experience required:

• 2-3 years book production and manufacturing experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to organize, manage and complete multiple tasks efficiently
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Experience in production and project coordination preferred

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
