Macmillan Learning is seeking a Marketing Operations Manager at our New York office! The Marketing Operations Manager will focus on strategy, design, execution, and analytics around Macmillan Learning’s lead management processes, marketing databases, marketing automation, and marketing campaigns. They will be responsible for creating scalable processes for our marketing organization that ensure best practices in lead generation and database management.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own and administer our marketing automation system, Marketo, with an eye to overall database health, optimization, and marketing strategy

  • Develop and enhance operational change and alignment with sales and other key stakeholders

  • Enable data-driven decisions with analysis and delivery of insights through monthly reports and dashboards

  • Strategize and execute lead management and demand generation campaigns

  • Train and support marketing staff on the use of Marketo

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies and add-ons to improve and optimize performance

  • Oversee overall roadmap for marketing operations, including the creation and implementation of new initiatives based on evolving business needs

  • Develop and maintain marketing operations processes and documentation to support communication and efficiency across the marketing team

  • Monitor and maintain data quality within the marketing database including compliance with CAN-SPAM and other regulatory requirements

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred in Marketing, Business, or a related field

  • Marketo Certification required

  • At least 3 years of experience in inbound and demand generation using the Marketo and CRM (preferably Salesforce)

  • Experience with planning, governance, and support for marketing operations and marketing technology

  • Experience in reporting and analyzing data from marketing systems

  • Experience in API integration (Salesforce)

  • Proven ability to pick up new technical skills quickly

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google for Work (Slides, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Calendar

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, customer experience, and product teams to translate needs into effective programs

  • Ability to think strategically and align programs to overall marketing goals

  • Must be a leader and trusted advisor who can work with respective groups to develop strategic planning and roll out of global programs/processes

  • Ability to solve problems and meet deadlines

  • Ability to strategize based on current and historical data and analytics

  • Strong project/program management skills; must have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellence in verbal and written communication
