Requirements
Position Description:

St. Martin’s Press seeks a highly creative, strategic and motivated marketer to join our team. Candidates must be forward-thinking and able to develop & implement marketing strategies into full blown campaigns using the latest online and off-line marketing tactics. Successful candidates will have an ability to juggle many projects at once and to build relationships with in-house teams. Working closely with a cohesive group of colleagues, candidates will play a critical role in the success of a select number of the most important bestselling titles and authors at St. Martin Press.

Major Responsibilities:

• Serve as lead-title marketer for assigned titles and critical point of contact for publishers, editors, publicists, sales force, and authors
• Support the Marketing Manager with high-profile titles and authors
• Develop wide scale, integrated marketing campaigns with consumer and industry outreach
• Provide analysis on responses and efficacy of campaigns and commentary on how this informs future marketing strategies
• In conjunction with Creative Services, develop Sell-in and Marketing materials
• Cultivate audience development strategies and lead execution of them
• Contribute to marketing proposals for acquisition
• Manage individual title budgets
• Help manage social media accounts
• Staff consumer and trade conferences and conventions

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Possess a keen understanding of book marketing across many genres, including literary fiction, commercial fiction, nonfiction, and romance
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong communication skills – ability to speak with authors, other departments and customers with authority and tact and to represent the company well
• Working knowledge of digital marketing and social media
• Willingness to learn new systems, programs and procedures as job dictates

Experience Needed:

• 2-3 years book publishing marketing

Educational Background Required:

• College degree
