Requirements Hayden-McNeil, an imprint of Macmillan Learning Curriculum Solutions and a custom publisher of course specific educational materials is looking for a Production Assistant to be based out of the Plymouth, MI office. The Production Assistant will provide support in maintaining quality and timely production of our products. The Production Assistant will be responsible for several key functions of the production department.

Responsibilities:

Liaison with Vendors

- Independently creates, reviews, and submits manufacturing purchase orders.
- Initiate and monitor reprint work order to various print and bind vendors.
- Coordinates details of print and bind schedules with printers.
- Route and track vendor proofs through design and editorial for approval.
- Work with vendors on production of sales samples.

Coordination of Finished Products

- Quality checks all projects against parameters when finished goods are delivered.
- Works out any quality issues with production team.
- Enters shipping data into Navision and receives all titles into inventory.
Responsible for the distribution and archiving of finished books.

Collaboration with Team

- Review production costs and approve vendor invoices. Maintain team invoice mailbox.
- Perform data entry duties for setting up project components within our database.
- Work with design on the production of sales samples.
- Assist in maintaining and summarizing department data.

Special Projects

Support production team with special projects as needed.

Skills/Experience:

Printing or publishing experience helpful, but not required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to organize, manage and complete multiple tasks efficiently
• Highly organized and detail oriented
Experience in production coordination.
• Customer service experience preferred

College Degree preferred but not required
