Requirements The primary focus of the Partner Sales Representative is to work in conjunction with Field Sales Representatives in achieving sales goals for select priority titles within the Macmillan Learning Higher Education markets. The Partner Sales Representative is expected to achieve daily activity quotas that drive interest and sales of our products. The use of phone, virtual shared screen meetings, E-mail, and the distribution of sales collateral are all methodologies that the Partner Sales Representative will utilize to connect with clients.

Major Responsibilities:

• Identify, develop and close sales in the higher education markets. Partner Sales Reps will assess and respond to individual instructor needs by listening, understanding, overcoming obstacles, linking features to benefits, and providing ideal solutions that best meet the needs of the customer.
• Gain in-depth product knowledge of Macmillan Learning / Bedford, Freeman and Worth technology and print products supported by the Partner Sales Representative as well as competitive technologies.
• Actively and accurately manage company CRM tool. This includes, but is not limited to, all customer information, contacts, sales opportunities, and pipelines.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute online presentations or schedule demos as needed to faculty and institutional contacts throughout the year.
• Provide departments with post-adoption support and retain business for future semesters. Serve as a liaison between customers and appropriate company support.

Required Skills / Knowledge:

The successful candidate should have a firm understanding and ability to connect and engage with customers using a consultative sales approach. The candidate should have basic data analysis skills that allow for strategic territory and forecasting assessment, as well as be efficient with understanding new technology. Candidates must be adaptable to change, self-motivated, and exceptionally organized. Must exhibit excellent time management skills, be able to work collaboratively across groups, successfully multitask, manage difficult customer situations, exhibit varied oral and written communication styles for different audiences, and synthesize information.

Experience Needed:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Position requires periods of close concentration, must be able to multi-task, must lift 35lbs. of books for mailing projects, must be able to sit for long periods, must be able to concentrate in busy environment.

Preferred experience:

• Previous sales experience and proficiency with Salesforce.com preferred

• Previous Higher Education experience preferred.
