Requirements
Position Description:

This position will work with the Senior Director of Business Planning in matters related to business development, strategy, workflows, and the US finance organization (focused, but not limited to, royalties and subrights accounting). This person will play a key role in problem solving, developing, and implementing improvements and communication in these and related areas.

Major Responsibilities:

• Work with various departments to identify opportunities of improved efficiency, education, and communication. This will include carrying out research and interviews to understand existing workflows and structures, analyzing and interpreting data to unearth weaknesses and problems, and comprehending the causes.
• Propose and develop new procedures
• Manage and lead projects to implement workflow improvements
• Serve as first point of contact to resolve day-to-day issues arising between Royalties/Subright Accounting and other departments throughout the company. This will require a strong understanding of company databases/systems and how these systems work together
• Create documentation of current and new workflows, procedures and solutions

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Must be detail-oriented, analytical, and exercise good judgment
• Must be able to understand the needs and direction of the business as a whole
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and strategic planning ability
• Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
• Computer savvy—comfortable with databases, queries, and spreadsheets
• Genuine interest in book publishing operations

Experience Needed:

• 4-5 years relevant experience
• Book publishing experience preferred
• Diverse publishing experience a plus
• Project management experience a plus

Educational Background Required:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
