Requirements

Purpose of the Role:

The Product Model Manager defines and manages product models in collaboration with business, product, engineering, learning science, customer experience, and UX team members, leading the cross-functional team through the product development lifecycle, including idea management, discovery/validation, development, and ROI analysis. This role will be focused on the complete course solutions for Chemistry, Physics, Math, and Statistics, which includes both lecture and lab components.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Product Lifecycle

  • The Product Manager will structure interaction & process around business cases, working with business leaders to establish ROI for digital product lines and determine success criteria, and oversee the academic discipline needs within the product lifecycle.
  • The Product Manager will deeply understand the markets the product serves and synthesize user problems across the disciplines in order to find the optimal solution that works for learners, instructors and the business.
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Marketing and Sales to maximize digital revenue potential.
  • Manage stakeholder communication through complete product lifecycle.
  • Serve as a leader within the company.

Product Implementation

  • Collaborate with the Product Owners on the product development roadmap.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on requirements validation, monitor customer feedback and incorporate into product growth as per strategic objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional product rollout outside of the agile team, including coordinating with Learning Science, Editorial, Media Production, and Customer Experience teams to facilitate successful product use.
  • Collaborate with Editorial and Technology to identify, develop, and manage contractual, technical, and consulting relationships with strategic partners and providers.
  • Facilitate development roadmap cross-product dependencies with impacted parties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing and building new products and enhancing existing products
  • Minimum 2 years of product management or business analyst experience
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with an emphasis on the ability to work with a wide range of groups
  • Ability to communicate across multiple functional teams: development, editorial, enterprise systems, operations
  • Superior planning and implementation skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Demonstrated success in product strategy and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to exert influence and deliver on capabilities without having direct control over all participating resources
  • Programming or prototyping experience a plus, agile experience preferred
