Requirements The primary focus of the Student Engagement Specialist is to promote iClicker and other student success products within an assigned territory. Maintain site licenses and standardizes accounts along with driving sales at the course level. The Student Engagement Specialist will also support the Macmillan Learning sales team with presentation and top opportunity sales strategies. The Student Engagement Specialist will be expected to travel 4 days a week to key accounts to call on opportunities during the spring and fall semesters. Travel will also include regional and national conferences, sales meetings.

Responsibilities:

Sales calls and on campus activity

• Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and implement strategies for achieving industry setting sales revenue growth in the assigned territory
• Identify and develop key targets crucial to sales and growth
• Plan, coordinate, and execute multiple in-person presentations that often occur in different locations on campus; also perform product demonstrations and training via webinars
• Manage key targets throughout the entire adoption process—from building awareness and relationships, scheduling product demonstrations, planning presentations, to owning adoption negotiations, closing the sale, and providing adopter training/technical assistance
• Provide departments with post-adoption in-service training, including training seminars/workshops and technical support

Reporting/Communication/Financial Analysis

• Maintenance of data in CRM system, as well as active communication of sales activity, sales pipeline. Etc.
• Communication and coordination within sales organization regarding mutual customers and prospects
• Create, analyze and customize pricing solutions for product offerings
• Regular communication with Macmillan field staff regarding product updates and opportunity pipeline

Organizational Planning

• Plan each semester’s travel itineraries
• Organize office, filing and electronic records to successfully manage a large volume of sales activity.
• Effective use of travel and entertainment spending to maximize effectiveness while staying within budget.

Market Development, planning and Growth

• Work in conjunction with product, marketing, client services, to develop successful strategies designed to gain market share.
• Participate in territory reviews and report sales projections
• Provide ongoing research and feedback on classroom technology, trends and other relevant events in the field to marketing and product groups.
• Establish long-term relationships with key instructors, chair people and administrators, including identifying and developing potential faculty advocates.
• Work local and national conferences when needed.

Skills/Experience Required:

• Minimum 3 years of Higher Education Publishing experience
• Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively with sales management, sales representatives, editors and marketing managers
• Presentation Skills
• Technical Proficiency

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
