Requirements
This position will help lead Celadon Book’s marketing and promotion efforts. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing publicity and marketing campaigns across the catalog working closely with the Associate Publisher and content team.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following categories:

Publicity:
● Create and manage media campaigns including industry, national media, on-air
● Create and distribute press releases
● Coordinate promotions with sales team
● Liaison with authors, agents, vendors, key media independently
● Create and manage events for authors and Celadon
● Attend industry and author events
● Work with design on creation of publicity materials

Marketing Plans and Campaigns:
● Develop and implement marketing campaigns
● Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results
● Work closely with content team to create cohesive strategy

Qualifications:

● Requires a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in related field a plus
● 10+ years experience in a marketing, advertising or promotion role
● Robust relationships with book-related media outlets as well as national media
● Experience with on-air booking
● Experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing campaigns
● Experience/Understanding of social media and content marketing (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, GoodReads, etc) and analytics
● Must have first hand knowledge of SEO and SEM campaigns
● Must have Facebook advertising knowledge (use of business manager a plus)

The successful candidate must have the following skills:

● Project planning is critical; individual must have the capability to document, communicate and integrate results into specific action plans and manage project plans for implementing marketing and publicity campaigns
● Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required;
● Initiative and desire to work successfully in a fast-paced, small team environment, self-directing day-to-day activities and prioritization; strong attention to detail, with an ability to follow-up on items to ensure tight timelines and releases are met

About Celadon Books: Celadon Books was established in the fall of 2018 as a division of Macmillan Publishers. Founded by Jamie Raab and Deb Futter, Celadon Books will publish a highly curated mix of fiction and nonfiction. The list of twenty-four new titles a year will draw on the founders’ unique ability to publish commercial and literary books and to discover and nurture talent.
