Requirements

Purpose of the Role: The Director of Product, Platform Integrations is responsible for successful delivery of campus, distribution, and other partner system integrations between Macmillan’s learning platforms in higher education and high school markets and campus technology systems. Using primary and secondary market research, this role will identify and deliver ecosystem integration opportunities that positively impact customer experiences, increase revenue, support exploration of new business and product models, and create competitive advantage. The Director of Product, Platform Integrations, will manage and evolve Macmillan Learning’s integration portfolio as the company transitions from current generation to new platforms and products, ensuring a well-planned, customer-centric migration approach. This role will work closely with Business Development and Sales partners to identify, evaluate, and develop partner relationships that will advance Macmillan Learning’s goals. Working closely with Sales, Product, Technology, and other internal partners, the Director of Product, Platform Integrations, will prioritize development balancing customer and business value, while ensuring an exceptionally high level of support for Sales, CX, and other internal teams involved with customer and partner integrations. This role will manage and develop one or more Product Owners, responsible for day to day planning, development, and support of Macmillan Learning’s integration programs. The Director of Product, Platform Integrations will take responsibility for other technology programs as needed, including current generation learning systems. Responsibilities: • Conduct market research and opportunity analysis to plan strategic direction for Macmillan Learning’s campus, distribution, and partner integration portfolio, including customer based migration paths. • Conduct discovery by analyzing feedback and needs from customers, stakeholders, and partners to define requirements for prioritized development projects. Lead agile development for prioritized integrations projects. • Partner with Sales and Business Development to explore, evaluate, negotiate, and execute advantageous integrations partnerships. • Manage team of Product Owners, setting team priorities and schedules. Will mentor and develop team members, evaluating their performance. Will also be responsible for hiring, performance management and firing for the team. Required Skills/Experience: • Minimum 5+ years’ experience leading product development teams to design and deliver successful, scalable platforms and products • Sufficient technical experience and aptitude to work effectively with Technology partners • Higher Education domain experience • Experience successfully delivering partner integrations • 5+ years agile development experience • Excellent communication skills - able to clearly communicate, navigate, and build consensus across the organization and with key partners • Strong research and analytical skills • Ability to lead, work, and coordinate effectively across Technology, UX, Product, Content, and Business System teams. • Capable of functioning at strategic and project detail levels • Extensive experience leading agile development projects • Strong technical aptitude to facilitate internal and external technology relationships • Proven ability to hire, lead and mentor a high performing product team • Deep commitment to customer involvement throughout design and development process • Ability and drive to obtain and use data to make decisions • High aptitude for problem solving, decision making, trade-off analysis needed to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments • Passion and curiosity for improving education through great technology, content, and design • e-commerce platform experience preferred Education Requirements: College Degree
