The successful candidate for this position will be an employee of Holtzbrinck Publishers, LLC.
The Recruiting Lead will manage all talent acquisition for Macmillan Trade and Shared Services divisions with a focus on Diversity and Inclusion. This individual will develop and drive the strategic plan to attract candidates and increase brand awareness in the marketplace, creating internal and candidate process efficiencies that lead to positive candidate & hiring manager experiences. In addition to sourcing and recruiting candidates, the Recruiting Lead will work to build a pipeline of qualified resumes to be used in quick turn situations, and will continually develop strategies to make the talent acquisition process more engaging and appealing for candidates. In partnership with hiring managers, the Recruiting Lead will strategically focus on finding top talent for Macmillan Trade and Share Services divisions.
• Candidate Screening & Assessment:
o Recruit and screen for all open positions within the business units supported, including screening resumes, initial phone interviews, and other recruiting activities based on job specific criteria set in the intake meeting with hiring managers.
o Conduct debrief sessions with hiring managers to assess recruiting rubrics and candidate skill levels to job duties.
o Make offers to all selected candidates.
o Develop and execute strategic staffing plan.
o Partner with leadership and the HR team to understand the long range and annual operating goals for the company in order to build a forecast and of needed critical talent.
o Research, propose and contribute to suitable and beneficial partnerships and networking opportunities to broaden our candidate pool and enhance our candidate pipeline.
o Create and implement overarching recruiting strategies that include referral programs, campus/conference/networking event attendance, D&I platforms and social media recruitment.
o Conduct a gap analysis of current state recruiting process and resources vs. what will be needed to accomplish short and long term hiring and onboarding needs.
• Recruitment Pipeline Development:
o Research available jobs boards, social media, internet search, database search, etc. and analyze & implement best practices for strategic recruiting.
o Proactively build a diverse candidate pipeline utilizing various sourcing channels, including external jobs boards, social media, internet search, database search, etc.
o Proactively identify ways to source passive candidates using LinkedIn and other social sites. Introduce new and innovative ways to engage talent for hard to fill roles.
• Coaching & Training:
o Create resource materials and training modules in conjunction with Director of Talent & Development to assist hiring managers with recruiting best practices, diversity and inclusion efforts and effective onboarding processes.
o Effectively coach hiring managers on interview and selection process.
• Metrics and Reporting:
o Forecast any possible internal or external changes to the business environment that will impact current recruiting strategies, approach, programs or processes.
o Analyze market compensation data, hiring trends, and talent pool changes to stay ahead of competitive challenges in the marketplace.
o Track and report internal recruiting metrics (i.e. Time to fill, conversation rates, new hire attrition within 6 months, etc.)
• Employer Branding:
o Increase employer branding and value proposition inside and outside of the organization by publishing content about the company mission, goals, benefits and thought leadership through social media, web presence, networking groups and recruiting events.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of proven recruiting success, focusing on full cycle recruitment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Sound knowledge and experience of HR and talent acquisition best practices
• Detail oriented, self-directed professional with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced and ever changing environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships within the Macmillan network and in the marketplace
• Knowledge of applicant tracking system(s) (UltiPro preferable
• Strong follow up, organizational and communication skills
